lyrics

A shady looking character walked into the bank with a bulge sticking out of the back of his trousers which looked very much like a gun.
Sure enough a few seconds later he produced the said article which did indeed - in the fullness of time - turn out to be a revolver.
As sure as eggs is eggs he had everyone on the floor with their hands behind their heads and he started demanding large sums of money.
The pimply people behind the counter sort of hesitated which made the gunman a little angry so he fired a shot into the ceiling.

And then the gunman said.....
No-one's gonna die

And then a woman on the floor began speaking to the gunman in a sympathetic tone.
About all kinds of interesting and mutually-acceptable topics.
She seemed happy to talk but not so happy about....the gun.

And then the two of them began a conversation.
About their families and the situation.
Of course both of them had substantial reservations.
But in the end each one developed fascination.

Meanwhile, back at the scene of the crime, pandemonium ruled with an iron fist of course.
Naturally one of the loyal subjects had activated the hidden button device so alerting vast numbers of police to the fact that trouble was now going on.
Before long, the bank was surrounded by police in bullet-proof vests, ready for a SIEGE.
Although the gunman had said 'no-one's gonna die' actually he was wrong because he was, because not every story has a happy ending.
On no - not this one anyway.

And then the gunman died I think he chose cremation.
His holey body sent off by the congregation.
A speech was made at some stage by a close relation.
But presently they lost their concentration.
The woman from the bank had made a small donation.
To help the gunman's family so they could keep away from starvation.
Some people said this woman needed medication.
But in the end she wound up with a commendation.
